A international news agency investigation reveals that nearly all hospitals in northern Gaza have been rendered inoperable due to intense bombardments, power outages, and shortages during Israel's war against Hamas. At least 20 out of 22 hospitals in the region were damaged or destroyed between October 7 and December 7, with 14 directly hit. The conflict began after Hamas’ October 7 attack, leading to over 1,200 Israeli deaths and more than 240 hostages. Gaza’s Health Ministry reports over 23,400 Palestinian deaths as of December.
Israel claims Hamas uses hospitals for military operations, allegations Hamas denies, with no definitive proof provided. The devastation to Gaza’s healthcare system has severely impacted civilians relying on these facilities for care and shelter.
